Structure Of Agricultural Machinery Castings
May 18, 2025
The structural design of agricultural machinery castings needs to take into account the characteristics of the casting process, mainly including the following aspects:
Draft angle: In order to facilitate the removal of the pattern from the sand mold, the cavity should have an appropriate slope. Usually, the surface of the casting has a slope along the draft or demolding direction, which is generally not more than 3°.
Casting fillet: In order to avoid the molten iron from destroying the corners of the sand mold or cracking the corners of the casting during pouring, the intersection of adjacent surfaces on the parts should be transitioned with fillets. The radius of the casting fillet is generally 3 to 5 mm.
Uniform wall thickness: The wall thickness of the casting should be basically uniform, and avoid too large a difference in wall thickness to prevent shrinkage, deformation and cracks during solidification after casting.
