Classification of engineering machinery castings
Apr 12, 2025
Engineering machinery castings can be classified according to material and molding method. According to material classification, engineering machinery castings mainly include steel castings, iron castings, copper castings, aluminum castings, magnesium castings, zinc castings, titanium castings, etc. Among them, iron castings are the most widely used in engineering machinery, and can be specifically divided into gray iron castings, ductile iron castings, vermicular iron castings, forgeable iron castings and alloy iron castings, etc..
According to molding method classification, engineering machinery castings can be divided into ordinary sand castings, metal mold castings, die castings, centrifugal castings, continuous castings, investment castings, ceramic mold castings, electroslag remelting castings and bimetallic castings, etc. Ordinary sand casting is the most widely used casting method, accounting for about 80% of the total casting output. It is suitable for the production of castings of various materials, sizes and batches, and is widely used in the fields of automobiles, construction machinery, etc.
